ReplyDeleteOkay, this is JeffScape.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, if I could vote a tie for the winner, I would. That stated, I can't, so:
1. PattiKen - not her usual cup of tea, she was in first, and Tom's won too many of the these.
2. Tom - for all of the reasons not above. Or something like that.
3. Siobhan - great start, then a precipitous drop in quality. But, she wrote more than anyone else not named PattiKen or Tom and the belly dancing videos are kinda awesome.
1.Tom - Some turns of phrase delighted me and I enjoyed the worlds (levels?) Tom created. But I wish the plot line had been clearer.
ReplyDelete2. Jeffscape - I was lost a lot of the time. It started to come together for me toward the end. I don't think it lives up to my expectations for Jeff's writing, though.
3. Baino - I completey understand why she couldn't finish. Had Bains completed this story, though, I suspect it might have taken second place, and maybe even first place, in my vote.
1 Jeff
ReplyDelete2 Patti
3 Siobhan
Well bugger. There are two here that I really feel are neck and neck. Closest contest for a long time methinks. I apologise for not finishing and making the competition a little tighter but you all know why.
ReplyDelete1. Patti - loved the story, the ending was a bit disappointing but was thoroughly engaged, knew the world and the characters and the story was a page turner.
2. Tom - always liked a good reincarnation and you weren't too off the wall but maintained that lovely Tomesque style that we've grown to love.
3. Jeffscape - mainly because you finished but also because it was an interesting blend of fantasy and SciFi. Confused me, but much does these days. Probably worth a rework when you've finally reworked the other 1000 reworks.
Congratulations to the newbie Zach for having a crack and to Siobhan for fitting us into her busy schedule.

This was really hard. I feel like both Jeff and Tom's pieces are pieces that are the best I've seen from both of them in a while. Jeff contradicted himself a bit too much from time to time. Tom's piece was the most comprehensible I've found in a while, and Patti was a fun read. I really enjoyed this, until next year!
