ReplyDelete1. Jeffscape. Can't beat that even though you didn't finish it here. You have a knack for turning these into damn good scripts.
ReplyDelete2. Jayne. Liked it a lot. Inimitable style but a story nonetheless
3. Siobhan. Again, not a finisher but the potential for a fully developed story.
Apologies from me. I just don't have it in me any more. Battered, bruised and no longer creative. Well done everyone else.
Okey doke...
ReplyDeleteSeriously, all quite good, but all a tad disappointing for one reason or another. We're all out of practice, of course, and it's just nice to see the gang writing again!
1. Siobhan - Not the best-written of the bunch, but the most cohesive narrative and fun enough to pass muster. Not sure you'll get enough points to out-score one of the longer pieces, though.
2. JAHH - The best all-around piece, but the rush to the finish harmed the story a bit.
3. Tom - by far the best-written, this was pure chaos! Which, while fun, also harmed the story a bit. I dunno if I want a longer piece or a shorter piece. Probably longer.
Baino was off to a good start, but we'll never know what she'd have come out with... :P
figured it out yet? Here goes nothing, and everything!
ReplyDelete1- JAHH
2- JeffScape
3- Siobhan
Kia ora. For me, my number 1 was clear and then it was quite tough after that. Soooooooooo;
ReplyDelete1. Jane - had lots of little lines that made me smile, and even the super short chapters didn't feel like they were cop-outs to me, they felt just right.
2. Helen - Really well written, had me very intrigued! The second part made me feel very happy then very sad.
3. Tom - this was a hard one because Jeff's and Tom's kind of did opposite things for me; the first 4 muses of Jeff's I really enjoyed, the last 4 muses of Tom's I really enjoyed. I think in the end, I just loved how mad Tom's characters were, and how they eventually made sense even in their madness.
This once a year River thingy is a happy push for me, and thinking it may be for all of you, too. I appreciate the admins continuing the tradition. Of course the over-achiever in the group probably feels - business as usual - since this is the medium he swims in.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see the cross-overs in all of the different stories as dictated from the muses. Wishing Helen’s was complete, because Im thinking if she had been able to make it to the finish line, it would have been on the top of my list.
1. Jeff
2. Tom
3. Helen
